Charlie Reaves fights a Blue Shark estimated to be over 80 pounds weight, which was released at the side of his fathers boat Reverie, with the minimum of fuss using a jumper type disgorger.

Fishing for Blue Shark in this area can depend heavily on the extent of the Gulf Stream. Some years it will reach as far up the English Channel as Start Point, other years it struggles to reach the Eddystone Light. But when the water changes to that magical light blue colour there is a chance of some big fish, maybe even the sight of a Leatherback Turtle and very infrequently a shoal of Bonito. Roll on Global Warming!!
